Econo Lodge Topeka at Wanamaker

I was very worried by the reviews. So I brought cleaning stuff and room stray lol the room did not smell like smoke or pot I was very pleased. Very quite and clean. Bed is comfy. If I get snowed in to work. Or have back to back shifts I will stay here again. Several in the area to choice from. But I would stay again

Overall a decent place for the price. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help with anything from unloading to finding forks. Location is great, it’s a little tucked away from the main road, making it quieter. The hotel was also an easy walk to many restaurants. Area felt safe as well. The rooms were okay, ours had a bit of a funk smell to it, and the sheets had stains (though the still seemed clean). A desk was sticky, and some of the floor was dirty, but the bathroom looked well kept.

Such a convenient location, but away from the road so it's quiet. The beds are soft, I had a great night's sleep. A comfortable room at a great price. The lady at the front desk is very nice. The A/C will freeze you out, so be aware of that.

Would stay here again. The room and amenities were plenty good for my needs. Slept comfortably! Conveniently close to the I-70. The rooms and parking lot could use a little repair, but it's nothing major.

We were blown away by the quality of this motel and our first floor room. Amazing value and good location for restaurants. The room is perfect. Other than the smallish towels, this Choice Hotel property is as good as a Hampton or Holiday Inn. We elected to stay here because it is pet friendly and we brought our 75 lb lapdog, Maggie will us on this trip to Colorado. Highly recommend this lodging alternative on the west side of Topeka.

Don't hesitate to stay here if you're passing through for the night and have a low budget. As a young woman, it felt safe, clean enough to be comfortable (just needs some upgrades), and the decor had cozy, warm vibes. It's also close to lots of food and shopping options and accessible to the highway. A couple of things that weren't so great (but not deal breakers for me): 1. Since it's close to the highway, you can hear the cars passing all night. If you are a heavy sleeper, bring headphones or a sound machine, or leave the AC on all night to muffle the sound, it's tolerable. 2. The water tasted kinda funky and was a bit hazy, but the customer service lady explained that it's because of something they put in the water to keep it from freezing. Totally understandable. Don't let these negatives sway you from staying here. It's worth it for the price!

Clean comfy rooms for an overnight stay... Desk staff friendly and accommodating, property in good location. Obviously an older motel that has been renovated, so might be some minor issues pointed out by other reviewers, but to me the lobby is well decorated and inviting as was the breakfast area. Room was very nice, bed was really comfy and we slept great. Bathroom is a might small, being a retrofit, but certainly 'do-able' and everything was very clean. One thing of note, floors in our room were not carpet. but rather a wood laminate... took a bit to get used to, but gives a MUCH cleaner feel and appearance. TV, WI-FI, fridge (with freezer for my blue ice packs!) microwave, all worked well. Bottom line, my daughter felt safe despite a late check-in and she thought the motel was clean and comfortable. My daughter is a 'tough customer'... but if she is happy, dad is happy!
